How to make Initial Art

I saw this great idea and thought it would make a cute baby gift for my friend. Well it ended up being a half birthday gift as it took me 6 months to actually get it done.

It was fun and easy to make. I picked out a pack of crayons and a shadow box frame from the dollar store. I printed out the letter K from the computer in the right size to fit in the frame as a guide. Then using an x-tacto knife I cut the crayons to fit the letter.
Then I painted the frame background white and the frame black with some acrylic paint. Once dry I used a glue gun to attach the crayon pieces.
Since on it's own it didn't scream K - I painted in the K is for Kai.

I thought this made a great baby gift, especially since his room is primary colours. But it would also make a great teachers gift which is what the original was made for.
